In response to growing community need and the capacity of our volunteers, we have transitioned from in-person support meetings and Facebook-moderated groups to a dedicated online community page. Here, you can access up-to-date, neuro-inclusive, and helpful resources. Connect with us to find out how to become a member and access.

The Northern Autism Network (NAN) is a peer-led community proudly sponsored by the Strengthening Parent Support Program (SPSP) at Melbourne City Mission and the Reservoir Neighbourhood House. We work in close collaboration with Neurodiversity Consultant, Montgomery Re-engineering (Jenni Montgomery), who focuses on building capability in identifying barriers to communication, enhancing resources, and improving processes from a Neurodiversity Paradigm and Human Rights perspective. Lisa Petersen is our volunteer coordinator through SPSP, and is committed to strengthening community support networks to drive positive change, to cultivate more understanding and inclusion in the areas where it’s needed most.
Together, through intentional peer support and with a neuroinclusive lens, we aim to foster equity, diversity and inclusion, and explore possibilities where Neurodiverse families, young people and children, can not only survive, but thrive and reach their true potential.
We are a trauma-informed, intentional peer network focused on creating connection, inclusion, and belonging for everyone. Our mission is to understand and foster what these values look, feel, and sound like in the communities where we operate.
